I thought I had more time to prepare
Friday, November 21, 2008 at 05:23PM Quinn: "Mommy, how does God make people?"
Mom, completely oblivious to where this is going: "I don't know, hon. It's a wonderful mystery."
Quinn: "Does he get bones and blood and just clap his hands?"
Mom, beginning to realize that this is the "where do babies come from" question phrased as only Quinn can: "No, sweetie. He actually gives mommies and daddies seeds and then those seeds grow into babies." [I know how lame this is. Truly. Hindsight is 20/20, though.]
Quinn: "Yeah, the eggs crack..."
Mom, unable to resist the urge to correct him yet knowing that this is not going to end well: "No, the babies grow in the mommies' tummies. Remember how I told you that you grew inside my tummy?"
Quinn: "Yeah, but how does the seed get there, Mommy?"
Mom, desperately looking at the clock: "It's kind of complicated. Let's get those shoes on before we're late for school!"
